Happy Riding!

Today's horse lesson was awesome. Emmy was introduced to another new horse, Buster. He was huge! The horses that she usually rides were off site today so she was put on a new horse. She did really well and was able to ride sitting and facing forward the whole session. In previous sessions she had to change positions and ride lying down or sitting backwards. This shows wonderful improvement for her trunk muscles. For the first time today, Bill was able to capture smiles!

Following each of her riding lessons she works with the PT using her crutches and braces. Today they worked on balance and she had Emmy participate in activities where she could stand on her own using one crutch for support. One of the activities was taking wet handkerchiefs out of a bucket and hanging them on a clothes line. Emmy thought this was a lot of fun!
