We traveled to Medford in Southern Oregon yesterday in order to meet a group of families that have individuals with Spina Bifida. There were six families there for a BBQ in the park. We took a group picture with all of the family members and then another with the individuals with Spina Bifida. Their ages were: 1 1/2, two 2/1/2 year olds, 4, 17 and a gentleman not pictured who was 25. It gave us a wonderful opportunity to bridge the gap of distance between Salem/Portland and Southern Oregon. The women of the families that we met have been getting together for lunch once a month for quite a while. They provide a support system to one another. This is the first time that all of their families were together for an event so it was a perfect time for us to meet and get to know them.
