We spent the evening carving our "punks". Our enormous pumpkins turned out to be an enormous challenge. They were really thick and our pumpkin carving tools didn't want to work with them. Bill dove in first (he had to leave for work). He carved his smiley-face "punk" in record time. Ash stepped up to the plate next, carving her 63 pounder. She found it a bit difficult to cut through the thick skin but her perseverance paid off and she finished her emoticon-face "punk". Next was Emmy's pumpkin. She wanted NOTHING to do with this process this year (not too surprising from a child who can't stand to be dirty and doesn't like things out of place). She chose a kitty face and Mama was in charge of making it happen. We had pumpkin insides all over the kitchen (which Ashy so wonderfully cleaned up) but it was sure fun!
