Mama, I ride horse!

Today marked the end of Emmy's horse therapy for this season. Due to the cold and rainy winters here in Oregon they take the winter months off. Emmy has grown quite fond of horse riding and thinks that she should be able to ride every horse she sees. She has only been riding since June but has made tremendous progress in four short months. When she first began this program she wasn't able so sit up and facing forward for the full half an hour. Her trunk muscles weren't strong enough. Now she is able to ride sitting up the entire session as well as sitting backwards, sideways and she can keep her balance sitting forward while the horse gets up to a trot. (This is her favorite part of riding. She looks forward to being able to tell the horse "Go... Fast!" It is going to be a long break. (She won't start riding again until March).
