2 X the fun!

Dada was able to be with us at Shriner's today. He spent the first part of our morning session getting acquainted with the mechanics of the brace and then it was straight to work. He did a great job as we hit the hallways in search of stickers (they are located throughout the hospital in all of the reception areas). Dada lasted quite a while, especially since this was the first time he had tried to help Emmy walk.

Work is always more fun when you have a friend to join you and today was no exception for Emmy. Today we were joined by another little one from Salem who is also two years old (almost three). She got her braces in November and she and Emmy spent the morning session "walking" through the halls and working on the parallel bars. It took them some time to warm up to each other but eventually they were smiling together and touching hands. I had a really good time interacting with both girls and talking to the mother of Emmy's new friend. During our morning session, Em moved her leg back down to the floor when her PT set it in the air (the brace doesn't allow for immediate movement unless Emmy shifts her weight ). She was able to repeat the process over and over again. Another proud moment for Mama (and Dada).
