Let it snow! Let it snow! Let it snow! and snow and snow and snow!

I don't think it is ever going to stop! According to last night's news, this is the worst snow fall since 1968. I'm so glad we are here to witness it-lol. We now have about six inches on the ground and it is layered snow, ice, snow, ice, and snow again.

It is absolutely gorgeous but Bill still has to drive all over the state. He can't abandon a call unless the roads he travels are closed. This morning he left our house and headed to Albany, 20 minutes south of us. From there he turns back around and travels to Battleground, WA. All roads in and around Portland are requiring snow chains (even with traction tires). Everything in Portland has come to a halt. The airport doesn't have any planes going out, the Greyhound passengers are stuck in the Portland terminal and the Amtrak passengers are stranded in station.

There have been wo
nderful examples of love for these poor people during this Christmas season. Both Subway and Dominos pizza have taken them meals and local residents have been taking hygiene items and spare change so that they can make phone calls. My heart goes out to all that are in that situation but I am so thankful for the generosity and care that the local people that are showing. A showing of true Christmas spirit.

This morning we were supposed to have rain but guess what?!?! It is SNOWING! and has not stopped since we woke up. Temperatures are supposed to be on the rise and by Christmas Eve we are to get rain and a high of 38. We aren't holding our breath but we'll see what happens. So, for now... we hunker down and stay inside, finishing up our baking and wrapping while enjoying the familiar tunes of Christmas music and drinking hot chocolate.
