Shake! Emmy Shake!

Can you tell that Christmas is my favorite time of the year? (Guess I come by it naturally) There are so many traditions to carry on, memories to be made, and events to attend.

Tonight we carried on my family's tr
adition of baking cookies for our neighbors, which we will deliver on Christmas Eve. Emmy is particularly fascinated by "cooking" right now and this is the first year that she has really been old enough to understand what we were doing and interested in joining us.

She needed no instruction in how to decorate her tray of sugar cookies. The first bottle of sprinkles was quickly emptied (onto one cookie). Soon she learned that there were different varieties of sprinkles in each bottle so (of course) she tried them all.

Dada taught her to taste the sprinkles so every so often we stepped away from the table in order to take hand washing breaks. Have you ever tried to teach, an almost three year old, not to put their fingers in their mouth during cookie decorating?

It is a bit of a challenge but I think we save the cookies from any "additional additives". Emmy had a great time and I know that she will be a big helper tomorrow when we bake a few more items for our cookie plates.
